This year for World Book Day we celebrated the theme ‘Colour your World’. All children and staff made a fantastic effort of dressing up either as a crayon, in bright colours or as their favourite book character – there were some amazing costumes!
As a school we explored the text ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and created some exciting pieces of writing about the story.
We spent time making our ‘Book in a jar’ for the competition. There are some brilliant entries and all children thoroughly enjoyed their time to show off their creativity. The amount of effort which has gone into these jars has been phenomenal!
Some of our Governors had a tough job this afternoon as they had to judge the jars and select a boy and a girl winner from each class. They commented on the fantastic effort which had been put in across the whole school.
The winners of our competition are:
Class 1 – Aiden H and Rose G
Class 2 – Tyler M and Matilda T
Class 3 – Owen E and Vanessa B
Class 4 – Finn H and Grace E
Class 5 – Elliott F and Nona R
Class 6 – Jaiden B and Layla K
Class 7 – Oliver D and Faye K
Class 8 – Jack C and Millie S
All children did excellent and was a really hard competition to judge. Check out the gallery of the day below:
