Without jumping to the conclusion too much that this sun in the sky is here to stay, can we just take this opportunity to remind parents/carers to ensure their child is prepared for days when the sun is particularly hot.
Children, especially those who are particularly fair, should have sun cream applied before coming to school on a morning, and if you feel it necessary they can keep some cream in their bag. We advise children to bring sun hats/caps for outdoor breaks.
Children spend 15 minutes outside for morning break and a further 30 minutes during their lunch break. Please consider if it is also a day they may have afternoon P.E. or after schools clubs, as these sessions are likely to be outdoors.
If your child has hay fever, please ensure they have had their medication before coming to school.
Our school uniform policy remains in place, regardless of the weather, but children can exchange trousers for schools shorts, skirts or gingham dresses. Open toe sandals are not allowed.
Finally, all children must ensure they bring their water bottle to school every day, even indoors on a warm day can be difficult, whilst we do have water fountains, all children are encouraged to have a water bottle in the classroom.
