Tomorrow is the last day of term (Thursday 29th March) and we will be holding a special event in school. It will be a ‘Bad Hair Day’.
Our aim is to raise money for The North East Autism Society, who support families living with Autism.
From March 26 – April 2 ‘The Rose family’ from Consett will be opening up their home and their lives for a no-holds-barred look behind-the-scenes at what life is really like being autistic for World Autism Awareness Week. We have Quinn and Albie from this family who attend our school. Please see the link below.
As this family have been spending this week opening up their home to their life, ITV news are also coming into school tomorrow as an extension to what their daily life is like.
Children can still come to school in non-uniform (this was already arranged) but we ask that they wear an element of ‘Blue and/or Gold’ is what they wear, and that this is accompanied by a ‘Bad Hair’ style.
Miss Astbury sent a letter home about this on Monday 19th March.
The fine for this remains £1.
Children will spend the day taking part in activities to help them understand Autism.
Children must also bring in their decorated Eggs for the competition, which will be drawn in a special assembly tomorrow.
Year 3 will NOT swim on this day (for fear any hair dye changes the pool rainbow colours!)
