I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and sponsorship for the run I competed in on Saturday. Although in more pain than you can imagine, I did it!!!!
It was by far the hardest thing I have ever done, I am so pleased I finished it. I managed to continuously run 45 miles before my knee ‘popped’ and hurt (a lot), but I battled through the next 20 miles by power walking (barely jogging) before a final running finish over the Millennium Bridge to my family.
It took me 16 hours and 33 minutes to complete, getting to the finish line at 11.33 p.m. There were over 600 people registered to compete but only 453 managed to finish in time….I finished in position 198! 31st female out of 98 competing. It is no easy run and I will be recovering for many days yet.
Driving me to the finish line was remembering who I was raising money for, Children with Cancer Uk, such an amazing cause. So far I have raised over £1,200 and its still climbing.
Thank you to you all, I am truly grateful. Mrs Raine
