On Wednesday 6th June we welcomed 95 very special people into our school to have lunch with their child. It was wonderful to see so many happy children and proud Father’s, Uncles and Grandparents sitting together. Although the lunch period only lasted an hour and a half, it was action packed with activities for all to enjoy. During the lunch there was a musical presentation with photographs of the adults with their child, including some very funny ones much to the amusement of all the children. Despite a wet and cloudy start to the day it did not stop many families from taking their lunch outdoors, as we previously planned.
Children were eagerly sat waiting in the hall for their special person to arrive and sit with them, they presented them with a lovely ‘About My Special Person’ card as well as a chocolate medallion to show that they are their number 1!
After lunch there were a host of outdoor activities for all to engage in, this included Cricket, Penalty Shoot- Out, Football, a Father’s Day quiz, Music and the Grand Finale was ‘Tug of War’.
Once again, these events do not go to plan without the support and commitment of so many staff in our school, especially our cooks Keith and Nicky, and our lunch staff Mrs Armstrong, Mrs Telford, Mrs Shaw and Mrs Hudson. The teaching and support staff also gave up their lunch hour to socialise and support the event. Thank you to all!
We hope all those who attended had a wonderful and memorable time, it was great to see so many familiar and new faces. Time to start thinking about next year!
