The whole school attendance for December was 94.72% which is another slight drop from November and keeps us below our floor target of 96%. There has been fewer children absent with the sickness virus and also cold and coughs, and more absences due to holidays and several unauthorised where no reason has been provided. Most parents/carers are very good at informing us of the reason for their child’s absence, which can be done via calling, texting or emailing the school. Failure to inform us does result in an unauthorised absence which may then instigate further action and monitoring. If your child has been off several ad-hoc times, with the same thing, this is recorded.
On Thursday 20th December the autumn term attendance letters went home, they were colour coded using a traffic light system. If you received a red letter you may have been asked to contact the school for a support meeting.
The December attendance by year group is as follows:
Year 3 – 92.14% – Come on year 3
Year 4 – 95.06%
Year 5 – 96.53% – EXCELLENT YEAR 5 – TOP
Year 6 – 95.28%
As year 5 have achieved the best attendance for December each child in year 5 will be given a cake/giant cookie on Friday (11th January) as their reward.
